13 Ski and Spa Vacations for People Who Hate Skiing

The spa at this ski-in, ski-out resort features 17 treatment rooms, a dry heat lodge, and a heated outdoor pool. Amazing mountain views are included free of charge.

Åre, Sweden, is northern Europe's largest ski area and a veritable winter playground. Besides easy slope access, there's also dog sledding, heliskiing, and ice driving. After all that fun, drag your weary body to the spa—rotate between the sauna and indoor and outdoor hot springs. Treatments incorporate local ingredients such as mineral salts and juniper oil. Book the private spa section, which offers saunas and hot baths, for the ultimate indulgence.

Good luck beating the views at the Fairmont Banff Springs, a 2014 readers' choice pick within the Canadian Rocky Mountain Parks, a UNESCO World Heritage site. Check into the Willow Stream Spa for ginger oil body wraps, mineral scrubs, and deep-tissue massages.

Robert Redford founded Sundance Mountain Resort, a 2014 readers' choice winner for best resorts in the West , in 1969. The spa here is a "nature-inspired eco-spa" (remember, this is a Redford resort) that incorporates Native American traditions into its treatments. Try a Honey & Cornmeal Body Wrap or a Sage & Sweet Grass Ritual, which reportedly eliminates bad energy (such as potential ski mishaps).

Marble steam rooms, a heated indoor pool, a Finnish sauna, and candlelit massages are among the attractions at this spa in the heart of the Italian Dolomites, a popular ski destination. Arnica gel massages are geared to treat sore muscles, while oxygen facials target skin dehydrated by the high altitude. Take pampering to the next level by customizing a wellness retreat package that includes a personal trainer, beautician, and dietician.

Skiers head to the spa at the small-yet-luxurious Hoteldorf Gruner Baum for its thermal springs. Choose from indoor and outdoor pools between indulging in milk facials and salt scrubs. The spa is also family friendly, with a special "babymoon" package and a full menu of children's spa treatments including a Gummy Bear foam bath and a Hello Kitty pedicure.

The jet-set crowd has visited St. Moritz every winter for years, so it's fitting that the spa is celebrity-ready. In addition to six treatment rooms, the two-floor spa overflows with water features, such as a Finnish sauna, ice fountain, and a Kneipp trail—a form of therapy that involves walking barefoot along a snowy trail. Book a private spa suite and enjoy treatments along with a complimentary bottle of champagne.

Spending the day skiing and being seen is exhausting. Retreat to Remède Spa for spa therapies that rely on local and natural ingredients (in addition to a waterfall, steam cave, and oxygen lounge).

Le Chabichou is inside the largest ski area in the world, and its state-of-the-art spa is ready to handle slope-related needs. Not only does it boast a hammam, ice fountain, and salt grotto, but it also includes a pool with multi-sensory features, such as music.

Thanks to a multi-day spa package option, you could easily spend your entire trip inside this 35,000-square-foot spa. Enjoy a private spa suite with a partner, which includes two copper tubs, or go it alone and sample a range of hydrotherapy options, such as soaking in a tub of herbs before getting wrapped in seaweed. Don't be deterred by treatments named Mountain Body Therapy, a combination of hydrotherapy and sports massage. It might be geared toward skiers, but luckily skiing is not a prerequisite.
